2012 - OH WHAT A YEAR IT WAS!

Thank you so very, very much to all the faithful Blanketeers.  Your hardwork and blanketeering efforts have meant so much to all the many children that you've helped comfort.  We were able to distributed 2,216 blankets - way up from 1,371 the previous year (845 to be exact).

Of all the blankets, 67% went to local area hospitals:

888   MMC - Barbara Bush, NICU & ONGYN
              18    Mid-Coast Hospital
              49    Southern Maine Medical Center
             339   Spring Harbor
             195   Goodall Hospital

You're all wonderful and are so important in helping comfort all these children.
Peace.

DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES

I'm so thrilled to announce that we have a contact with DHHS and now there are blankets for the children served by that agency in York and Cumberland County.   I so grateful for the work that those folks do in those difficult situations and am so happy that we can help make their clients lives a little more pleasant.

Thanks to all of you.

FROM SPRING HARBOR STAFF

Many thanks for your generous gift of quilts.  On behalf of the Spring Harbor Hospital staff, One North East, Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer Dennis King, I want to express our sincere appreciation for your generosity.  Thank you for your generous support of  Spring Harbor Hospital.

P.S.  Note - Spring Harbor Hospital is the second largest recipient of our blankets.

MMC BARBARA BUSH VISIT APRIL 5, 2011

Thanks to the staff of Maine Medical Center's Barbara Bush Hospital for our tour.  It was interesting and most enlightening.  Many had specific questions, and this was a great time to get them answered.  We got to visit the different units.  What an amazing place.  Everyone was so upbeat and kind.  The hospital is blessed to have such positive and kind personnel.   A very special thanks to Sherisse Wormell, Coordinator of Child Life Services.  We're blessed to have you taking care of our children.
